The Process
I meet with spouses together in a confidential setting to address relevant issues including property, assets, parenting, custody, child and spousal support. Since it is a private setting, there will be no court record of our conversations, allowing for an open discussion of the often difficult issues.
We will meet for 1-2 hour long sessions, typically once a week. We will meet until all issues are addressed and resolved as required in the State of Illinois for an Uncontested Divorce. This typically takes 4-10 sessions to complete.
Once an agreement has been made, I will write a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) including all the details of the agreement which can then be and filed in court to obtain your divorce. It is recommended that you consult with an attorney to review the MOU for any additions.
Although divorce is a painful and difficult process, my experience guiding couples and families through difficult processes combined with my level-headed demeanor and ability to remain focused on the tasks at hand allow me to approach this work, and your case, with confidence. I am committed to allowing both partners the opportunity to have a voice and to be heard. What is required of you is a willingness to actively participate, make decisions, and work towards a fair and equitable agreement. If you believe you can be honest and committed to doing the work then mediation can be a viable alternative to the more difficult process of litigation with attorneys.
