Experience/Training

I have been working with children, adults, couples, and families since 1995. I began by working with at- risk adolescents who were involved in the criminal justice system. I also worked early in my career at Rush Hospital and University of Chicago with individuals struggling with serious mental illness. These experiences were very valuable to my learning about human suffering and stress. After that, I worked with families at a therapeutic day school and at the JPA Family and Child Development Center. I provided therapy to individuals and family, conducted assessments for the court, and provided Grand Rounds consultation to caseworkers. I also provided clinical supervision to the staff. Along the way, I worked contractually at Cathedral Counseling Center in Chicago and Pillars/Fillmore Center in Berwyn.

For the past 12 years I have worked in private practice. In addition to providing in-depth psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families with a wide range of clinical concerns, I have provided clinical consultation/supervision and in-service trainings for clinicians. Additionally, I taught Comprehensive Introduction to Theory in the Master’s Degree Program at the Institute for Clinical Social Work.

Throughout my career, I have participated in individual and group case consultation. I also participated in post-graduate seminars on therapeutic theory and technique in the psychotherapy training program at The Community House in Hinsdale.

I received a BA from University of California, Davis and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago. I also have a Certification in Divorce Mediation.
